  Dad's pickup had about 750lbs.  That's when I started MEASURING 
piston projection before replacing a head gasket.  The old standard was 
to "replace it with what came off."   Well, what came off was obviously 
wrong!
  We'd done a re-ring and bearings on that original engine.  As it broke 
in, it LOST power due to the increasing compression losses I presume.
