  The VW diesels have a distinct sweet smell to them, especially at 
startup.  The Lamborghini, Same and MF 275 tractors all have really 
dusty, make your throat feel dry and cough type of exhaust.  The 
MF 135's smell like typical diesel exhaust with a bit of extra "black" 
(both visually as well as smell) to them as they've gotten older.  
Can't remember how the Ford tractor smells, kinda in between I 
think.
