Should be able to go to 1/8" NPT for that hole, the tapered pipe threads
will probably seal up better than the straight metric threads
(M10x1.0).  Apply some grease to the pipe thread tap, this will catch
the metal shavings while you cut the new threads.  Then use an adapter
as noted.
