I'm back ;o)
OK I've read the correct manual and its a little more
interesting than the other I looked at!
The file could be somewhat smaller for people without
highspeed downloading; if Bosch cross referenced the check
procedures rather than reprinting the same info about 3
times (I was beginning to think that I was miss-scrolling
the file ;o)
Again its a shame that the only coverage for the TD is the
timing measurement figure (also repeated several times ;o)
The idle speed drop procedure is interesting in respect of
using the rev counter for accurately locating differences in
the injectors; which reminds me I must set up one of my
gasser tachs to do the same.
The other interesting snippet is the reference to the
'damper'
Why was it only on the vehicles for a short while? Or is it
because the book is limited to '83? Never had one on a
Quantum...
Anybody know much about the theory of dampers? Could I make
one out of a lump of something? Of my hundreds of books on
various topics I cant think of one on 'damping' theory... At
a guess it must absorb the vehicle body vibrations by
vibrating itself. Must be similar to dampers on hawsers on
suspension bridges.
