Well,
I drove the jetta home today. Wow, I'm surprised at how peppy and tight it
feels! this car has a nice stiff suspension.
Thanks for the exhaust advice Loren. turns out the car had 2" exhaust. the 2
mufflers must not be stock either, because it feels like it is breathing great!
Nice low tone, but not loud unless WoT. The downpipe had some rust holes on the
seam; my bud welded that up for me.
Still need to hook up glow plug circuit and fuel lines. I drove it home on a 2
gallon gerry can.
Thanks to everyone else for the tach info. I'm going to save that for last since
it's not essential. soldering 2 resistors and a potentiometer in doesn't sound
too hard. I'll let the list know if and when I get to it.
