[Vwdiesel] Fuel delivery valve woes...

The problem with fuel delivery and keeping the pump primed while fiddling
with other things has bugged me in the past.
Who needs that uncertainty along with the rest?

I arrange a 1 gal. plastic jug of fuel with a couple of feet of transparent
vinyl tube, and hang it from the top of the hood when it's open,
Pull the supply tube off the filter and shove your IV drip onto the filter
inlet, stary the syphon and go to work.

If you will be at it very long, run a second tube from the pump outlet back
to the jug to return the surplus, which will otherwise go back to your tank
and empty your jug fairly quickly.

I have used the IV drip when doing a pump shaft seal, to check for leaks,
and prime after repair.

Also did my first veggie tests a few years ago with2 vinyl tubes from the
pump into the passenger footwell through the passenger window where I had
two 3L jugs of canola from the Italian food aisle at the grocery
store..Took me 80 miles to my bush camp with some left over.

Any time there are problems with the tank, lines, water separator, etc, the
1 gal jug will fit under the hood (of an NA) where the air intake sits, and
run you about 30 miles per fill.

I have a metal 5 gal outboard motor fuel tank that may sit in my passenger
footwell this winter (to get the benefit of the heater) and get hooked to my
new 6 port valve for canola running.
