Sorry Erik... Just dont call me Marc
So in summary the simple but safe way to deal with the
transmission oil:
1) Drain all oil into a graduated container by jacking (WRT
drivers perspective)
(i) RHS lower then
(ii)LHS.. then
2)Check volume... if major loss then will need to find out
where it went :o(
3) Use magnet and/or wifes stockings to check for 'Shards'
4) Jack car up BEYOND required minimum from this LHS to
enable pouring in through filler plug the 'correct volume'
of oil; either new or topped up.
5) Filling via speedo cable is possible but SOME have had
problems with the different seal types.
Perhaps this method should be avoided unless you know what
type of seal you have or have a spare handy.
Not a problem if you use the filler plug
(unless you're proficient at cross-threading :o)
I think I've covered it all...
Erik I think the filler plug on a Quantum is OK for a level
fill... I just need to be standing in a large Gopher hole
to do it...
