[Vwdiesel] Cat converter

Why in the world would they even put a cat on
a diesel back in 91. I can see today maybe with the advancement of computer
controlled fuel delivery and all but back then?

Go back in archives a member posted a site about ECO   VW diesels.

It has to do with dollars  and approval for sale.

PS :  I operate my 1984 1.6L Turbo Rabbit  ---in  ECO  mode   ---78 miles to a gallon Imp.
NO excess fuel for a Cat to chew on---- read my lips.
