[Vwdiesel] New problem high idle

The levers on top of the pump that the throttle cable pulls on are probably
sticking. I had one that needed a shot of bug juice every now and again adn
when sticking, the bottom lever would keep the idle up. Give it a push in
the direction of idle and see. "It" being the one the spring is on as
well...
Antiseize on new injectors is an absolute MUST. Use it all the time on that
sort of thing where you have aluminum meeting steel to prevent sticking due
to galvanic corrosion. If you don't use it, they are a bearcat to get out
next time.

Subject: [Vwdiesel] New problem high idle
Now I have a new problem that just started. I just went out to do a
compression test, started the vehicle up to get it out and warm it up to
temp. Started great, gave it some gas and let off the throttle but the idle
didn't come down. It stayed up at I would say 1500rpm maybe,(no tach) It
wouldn't come back down unless I put it under a serious load to get it back
down to idle speed or turned off the car. When I restarted, it idled fine
but as soon as I gave it some fuel it went back up to that high idle, with a
light tan smoke out the tail pipe. The injection pump lever moves freely, it
was resting against the idle stop but the engine was running fast. I have a
new set of rebuilt injectors to put in it. I was going to do that after the
compression test to see if it cleared up my black smoke at heavy throttle.
The injectors are the one of a few things I didn't change when I rebuilt the
engine. Oh before I forget, is it ok to put antiseize on the new injectors
threads before I install them? The Bentley doesn't state too.
What can this problem be? Like I needed another one!
Thanks,
Nick
