[Vwdiesel] Low oil pressure?

Does the engine Need to be removed?  Any way to do it in sitzu?
I know the cam has no bearing shells, but still the caps/heaed are themselves 
are the bearings. :-) If I'm not mistaken all of the other sources of low oil 
pressure/high blood pressure can be dealt with with engine installed.  Where 
can one get the pre-honed int. shaft bearings?  I will be swapping gauges this 
weekend.
