I, too, owned a 100GL.  The brakes were horrible.  They failed anytime it rained or if the car went through standing water.  The engine on mine was excellent.  It ran well over 125,000 of my lead foot driving, and even after I got rid of it, I know that it ran another 25,000 miles.  The only problem I had with the car was the brake system.  You best know exactly where the emergency brake was if you were anywhere near water.
