[Vwdiesel] 86 Golf,location of blower motor& heater core

OK, before I go out and actually buy a BENTLEY manual, I'll just toss this
question out quickly.
I don't want to put too much work into this car before I have a chance to
take it to my garage, only for them to tell me it's completely rotted out
and would cost $3k to weld it all back together, or something equally crazy.

That being said, I am tinkering with it (a little) in my spare time, until I
can get it down to the shop.

How do I gain access to the blower motor (fan) ?
Mine is seized.....or shorted........

Secondly, the heater core?  I can see "steam" coming out the vents. (not a
good thing......LOL!)
