Do
these valves go bad? Would it be possible to put an orifice inline to
control the amount of vacuum it pulls off the valve area? I think this is
part of my oil consumption and it can't be good for the turbo. Thanks
The "biscuit" is more of a check valve than anything. I remember
someone actually sitting down and figuring just how it was supposed
to work. I don't remember if it closes if velocity gets too high or if
there's
a back pressure in the intake but it does nothing that I've ever been able
to figure to stop the flow of oil.
Unless you have a dirty air filter you don't have a vacuum in the intake,
you only have pressure in the crankcase so restricting the breather
would only push oil and blowby out the dipstick hole, and past gaskets
and seals.
It won't hurt the turbo but it sounds like you have a broken rings or
some that didn't seat.
