Just old shop grade varsol that is used as a dirty tank for cleaning up
nasty stuff. I have 2 solvent tanks, one for disassembly, one for assembly.
The assembly one is for clean stuff, the other is for the nasty stuff
covered in crud, and black with carbon. I cleaned the manifold in the nasty
tank, so there is everything in there from carb cleaner (tyme) to every
fluid that a car can have in it- windsheild washer to brake. WHen the clean
tank needs cleaning, the dirty tank gets changed...

James,
You mentioned carburetor cleaner for the last step.
What solvent did you use before you finished with
carb cleaner? (Sorry if this is a F.A.Q. Didn't see
it on TDIclub...)
Thanks!
Paul
