[Vwdiesel] crazy cam gear removal

Right now I am beating my head trying to get the

 If the 1.6 is anything like the TDI, you can loosen up the bolt a few turns
(but leave it in!) and then come in at an angle from the cam side with a
long punch. The valve cover will have to be off for this to work, but you'll
need to remove it anyway to time it. Put the punch on the hub of the
sprocket and give it a few good sharp raps with a hammer, and it should pop
right off. That's why you need to keep the bolt in the end of the cam - it's
liable to fly off!
