It does throw a CEL, I can't remember the exact wording but it is pretty
obvious. "Fuel temperature - implausible", or something like that.
The symptoms depend - some people have reported very little difference in
operation.
BTW, here is a picture of a nice clean pump, showing the fuel temp sensor
on the left. It is held on by 2 screws and looks like a diode or a resistor.
It IS a resistor, actually, but one that is made to change value with
temperature.
