[Vwdiesel] Caddy AC

I'm looking at options to repair the air conditioning in my '81 Caddy

The original Sanden SD-508 AC compressor is history, having seized up,
hoses are old, evap coil is rusted.  You get the picture.

Does anyone have in their collection a serviceable SD-508 compressor? 
Other serviceable AC parts that will fit my caddy?

I have been in contact with a member of this list who has an unused dealer
AC install set for a '78 rabbit.  Does anyone know if there are any
differences between the '78 rabbit D and an '91 caddy D such that this AC
install set would not fit or work?
