[Vwdiesel] Correct way to remove frost plugs?

Is there any good way to get one out with the engine
in the car?  

It seems like there isn't much room back there.  I've
thought about putting a heater in my Corrado's block,
since I enjoyed the instant-on heat in my diesel so
much!
