[Vwdiesel] Coolant "cavity" in head?

I've had a couple of these. Not a comforting feeling.

JB Weld is pretty tough stuff, but I would question its ability to stay
attached when the head heats and cools. If it does come loose, where
will it go?

If you afford the time and expense, the proper and permanent method of
fixing this would be to have a bead of aluminum welded in and machined
flat.
