I took a look and I can actually get caliper kits! :-)
About $5.50 for Raymond's Jetta and almost $14 for the '82 van Lists
rebuilt caliper w/o pads for about $20 too (Jetta). Almost $60 for
the Girlings w/pads.
I can even get new pistons!
Easy to do. Block the piston so it can *just* pop out then hit the
input with compressed air and pop the piston. Oh yeah, pull the
boot first. Emory the outer part of the bore (outward from the seal
cut. It'll be rusty, it's not critical, you just want to clean it up is all.

The seal is a square O-ring. The piston and bore generally clean
up with a piece of denim and some clean brake fluid. If it needs more
then use crocus cloth on the piston. The bore doesn't really touch as
I recall and is a kind of rough bore. Maybe I'm thinking of the bottom.
You'll see when you get in there. ;-)
Put in the new seal, lube with a film of brake fluid and push in the
piston. Stop before it's fully in and install the new dust boot then
push it the rest of the way in.
Calipers with parking brakes take a little extra to get the piston back
in.
