[Vwdiesel] TDI injectors

Well, if you tell them what they are for, I would assume they know what is
needed... He's been doing this for a long time, and well. However, break
pressure isn't necessarily slavishly required to be the same in all
instances once you start monkeying with schnozzle orfice size flow rate and
such. Once the nozzles get bigger, you could in theory reduce the pressure a
tad to increase the duration and retard the injection pulse initiation point
to compensate for the shorter injection time the bigger holes provide you
with. Dunno for sure, just speculating... but Kerma's the dude to know this
if anyone does.

Thanks James.

Yeah, I was looking at the link. I had originally
looked at the upgrade nozzles that were actually about
$30 cheaper than the stock replacement ones. With
those upgrade nozzles, I'm sure I would need to
upgrade the settings in the ECU with VAG-COM.

Now, if those nozzles are sold for all '96-03 TDIs, am
I safe in assuming that injectors that were bought for
a ~'02 Jetta would work on the Passat? The seller
(someone on this list) thought their breaking pressure
might be slightly (~10 lb?) higher than on the '96
Passat's engine. Said that might actually be better,
with better fuel atomization.

Thanks,

David
