If you can,
Find a junker chassis diesel to swap parts from.

Things like fuel filter assy, fuel pickup assy from the tank(tank itself
should be ok) Various brackets, etc, etc, etc.

I don't think you would like putting in a older IDI diesel in an A4
chassis. A way heavier car to begin with. Motor mounts are different and
would require major surgery to make fit. It has been done, with great
expense. Stick with an A3 chassis( or A2, or A1).

That said, you could also use an Audi chassis as the recipient. Any 4
cylinder model before the current 'A' series should work.

Search the various diesel forums. There has been a diesel Cabriolet
conversion, a diesel Corrado, and a diesel Scirocco.

Keep us up to date on this project!
