[Vwdiesel] Cam lobe wear?

I am wondering the same thing as Shawn. I have had my
lifters out for over a year, nothing left in them for
sure. No way to get oil in them?
I have 2 new lifters that I got to replace the 2
cracked ones and I am getting ready to put the head
back together. I was told to compress them down by my
local head re-builder, before I put the cam back on.
Do you just put them in a big vise with wood on either
side and compress, figuring a way to push on the
inside of the bootom of the lifter?
I notice the 2 new lifters I got, the bottom of the
lifter is farther out so they seem to be expanded
compared to my other 6 that have been run.
Any help is good help
thanks, Bryan
