[Vwdiesel] Propane Tanks and Shop Air

tank acts as a big capacitor close to the load.

I Hagar has operated exactly  like Val Christian is explaining for many
years. -------------   and it works.      -------Capacitor ?   exactly.

A word about  Propane cylinders or Tanks ----------   make sure you mark them AIR only
for the fire guys.

Anyway they are the most economical of ALL air receivers.  ------In this area they have
a test date stamped right on it ---- and if it is not tested ?   ----DUMPSTER she goes.
Thats were Hager the dumpster diver comes in.  ---A Rabbit will carry a 100 
pounder and still have room for the groceries.   I have the Propane place ---close
and the other day I asked ---is that one scrap ? ----BINGO I got one more --in super shape.
Just outdated --------------- My blasting Cabinet is downstairs (handy)   and the compressor 
I use is 300 feet away.    "Swan"   5 HP  3 Phase 600 volts  ---------small black plastc line to here.
All quick disconnect fittings -----no need to drive over lines.

For a perspective --? You guys ----it takes a 100 HP compressor to feed a Sandblaster ----
BUT use a "Capacitor" ?    5 HP will do       -----1/3 HP   will do.    get the drift ?

You are not NOT going to blast 24 hours per day anyway ? are you ?   ---so   balst 10 minutes
and let the tank fill and blast again.

It gives a table of flow through orifices.  200  psi (normal for my blasting)  1/8 inch  (normal  here).
48.7   cubic feet per minute. --------------THAT is one humdinger of a compressor. ?

BIG Capacitor does it every time.

I fill tanks with water and pressure test to  400 -500 psi.

Yes I do have a lot of those cute Freon tanks ---looks a bit like a 20 pounder propane
BUT thin skinned.-----for those   ? I would use no more than 100 psi.

Did I ever have a tank let go ?   you bet .   That tale later. (no one hurt) thank you Lord.

PS :    Make sure you install pressure relief valve on EVERY tank.
