[Vwdiesel] Ode to a bad ground (or inop gp relay)

The amber light would always blink
when the wipers flicked or the high beams blinked.

Relay failure it had to be
must disconnect or pay a glow plug fee.

So for weeks I reach and use strange dialects
just enough to make that relay socket connect.

Then once the engine would no longer be mopin'
I reach back in to make the circuit open.

Then one day I have no start.
the light and all accessories work but the
starter has nary a spark.

A lousey ground it must surely be
I look for corrosion, it must flee.

The ground went straight to a bolt on the tranny
It didn't look bad, kind of uncanny

So I removed the bolt a quarter turn at a time
and cleaned things up not even as shiny as a dime.

I put it all back and gave the starter a spin
the relay too??? Indeed all is well, as I quickly grin

If your gp light filckers as down the road you amble
clean the ground or replace the relay? You take the gamble.
