[Vwdiesel] Security... Miser's method

My security on the Quantum is in the form of a switch in one
of the blanks (Actually its a spare rear demist I had) This
switch is on the control line to the glowplug relay. I put
it there to turn off the glowplugs manually after engine
starts... ( I was getting bored of replacing glowplugs) Left
on gives me 45 seconds of glow before auto off. I can switch
it off and on again for extra glow if I wish. Generally I've
switched it off after about 3 seconds and this is how the
switch is left until I have stopped car and wish to restart.
Car turns over but will not start.(It may do eventually but
certainly not for a long time cranking)
I believe this is security enough because unless the stealer
has an ammeter to check for power to the glowplugs; he may
just think its the solenoid unpowered and try jumping from
battery (unsuccessfully)
