It is possible to shut down electronic systems in a target automobile with
an EMP


  I remember when those were strictly sci-fi.  You now hear mention 
of them a fair amount like they DO exist.  Haven't seen one for 
sale or mentioned in actual use yet though.  Kind of like your 
own, temporary, nuclear free-radiation plant!
