Answer : Wear on pump -- NEGATED ------Pure and simple.
A gradual reduction of angular motion of the roller ring due to lowering of internal
pump pressure.
Addig fuel but not advancing pump to the proper injection point ---is the final
answer to the riddle.
Adding AD-100 increased viscosity of fuel to a point where timing piston , started
to advance the pump. -----incredible experience.
I did NOT discover this due to my great intellect or specific know how. PURE luck ---or
if you like, that mysterious hand again ? guiding me ?
Timing piston is 1 inch diameter , abouts. American inch. and pressure in pump is about
100 psi. and returnspring is one toughf coilspring.
Roller ring -- no rollers --totally naked is one big hunk of steel ---200 gram.
In Hillbilly Tuning --all these things are discussed ---and solutions suggested.
And yes any one of you are able to do it all at home ----just like me.
Nothing was more fun and satisfaction to me , than taking an OLD Rabbit and make
it perform better than the day it came out of the showroom . You may quote me.
Rabbits 1977 to 1984 NA or turbo.
Roller ring moves about 10 degrees from off to max RPM. 20 degrees crank.
Gives me great pleasure to be able to pass this information on.
Hagar.
