[Vwdiesel] Golf droppings!

Thanks Chuck & Loren et al,

I shall try some additive to this tank o' fuel and clean out the air filter
too.
Yes, it gets hot here. Was in the high 80'/low 90's during much of this
last tank actually.
About the warmest we've had all year. Cooler in the mornings on the way to
work of course.
That, and I guess the wheel bearings (2 of them) were acting up, didn't help
matters.

Kinda posted in haste earlier. Was upset about an unrelated subject, but
wanted to post
about my relatively good mileage.

Isn't it illegal to drive while tanked? ;-)

The ting/ping could be an injector (typically). Blowing black smoke and
a little worse mileage can be from the hotter weather (does it actually
get
hotter there?) or a dirty air filter. I pulled the one out of the Jetta
after
only a few thousand miles since the last inspection and of course, blowing
it out. I banged it on the ground and several times it left noticeable
bleahhh
on the ground! Blew it out. Much less smoke and runs much happier now.
It REALLY doesn't take all that long for one to need a good beating.
