[Vwdiesel] Fueling up

I ran a few errands today in my 1.6TD vanagon camper, and decided to make the 
last one a stop at the pump.  I had driven a total of 268 miles.  100 were 
highway cruising the remainder in city short runs.  I was keeping a curious eye 
on the gallons as they clicked away.  I always stop at the first click.  I was 
surprised when I passed 10 gallons without a click.  At 10.6 (still no click) 
I heard a spashing noise and looked in horror at the money flowing out of the 
tank and down the pavement.  It being noon I then had some fear of driving 
the short distance to my house, parking and having the expanding fuel flowing in 
the driveway, so I did a few more errands.  I figure 25.28 M/USG.  Not bad in 
a vanagon considering I overfilled it and spilled at least 1/3 of a gallon on 
the ground.  I'm happy about the mileage.  Irked about the faulty shutoff on 
the pump.
