[Vwdiesel] Re: [Audi-VW-Diesels] New clutch slipping like mad

I installed a whole new kit-disk, pressure plate,
throwout bearing. I did nothing with the flywheel
except clean all the residue off it.

That sounds like my major error from talking with
folks and reading your advice. Blast. I've never had
a problem before with not doing that, although I don't
know if I've ever replaced a clutch because it was
slipping--always just a "while you have the trans out"
thing or once because of a bad throw out bearing.

Couple questions: When I pull the trans to resurface
the flywheel, is the clutch likely trash now? I'd
assume that the disc is now glazed as I've driven it
some 70 miles or so... Is this "glaze" something that
can be removed, ie sanded off or something? If the
disc is dead, how about the pressure plate?

Thanks,

David
