[Vwdiesel] how to prime turbo injection pump?

Hmmm.. the 1.6TD frankenjetta won't start.. it was -10 F without a
working block heater (I found out the heater was broken after it was
below zero.) I waited a few days till it was 10 above, still no go. I'm
thinking there's a fuel problem, no smoke, no smell out the tailpipe on
cranks. Maybe I blew the seal on the cold start? Pulling air through
small leaks that didn't matter when the fuel wasn't so cold and goopy?
I've always primed the NA injection pump on the truck by removing the
fuel return banjo. The spaceship aneroid takes that spot on the TD
though. Anyone have experience filling through the incoming banjo? I'm
not sure how else to check if the pump's full and top it off it it needs
it, I guess I could take off the aneroid... Ideas?
Thanks,
