I wouldn't get too excited. People have been aspirating auxiliary fuels and additives (especially alcohols and water) for decades. A diesel will burn just about anything you stick down the hole, as long as there is a "diesel" cycle injection of fuel to ignite it. As far as hydrogen goes, for MOST situations, the efficiency to produce it is SO bad, that the emissions and energy cost to do so is way past ridiculous. For this special case (renewable energy source that uses Hx as a storage medium) it actually represents some logical thinking (even though the energy efficiency is horrible).
