Just wanted to say VW was on the ball in regards to their heating system. I
just love the fact that I only have to drive about a half a mile and warm
air starts to flow out of the vents. Just great in my book, I know it
doesn't get really cold here in NC, it was 28 F this morning but it sure is
nice to have that heat so soon.

Well, I don't know that I agree with that as far as the TDI's are concerned. Mine takes 6-10
miles of highway driving to get the temp needle off the lefthand peg, this is even on warm days,
if it gets much below 0F, it takes a lot longer and it will cool down just sitting at a stop light
for a while.

I do have to say though that I have modified my car a bit and that might have something to do with
it, but I don't think it makes that big of a difference. My TDI does not allow hot exhaust back
into the intake (thru the EGR cooler, thus heating up the engine coolent).. Sooo some of the heat
is lost out the exhaust. Also I have a larger oil cooler from a different VW engine, so its temp
is more closely related to the engine coolent temps.

I DO have 2 diesel rabbits that I hope to build into one good running one, sometime. I got them
around the first of the year, but due to breaking my leg in early spring, have not had much
ambition to crawl under the cars and start working on them..

I do hope that they will heat up good in winter, as I would like to drive them instead of the TDI
in wintertime.
