Hi all, I figured I'm qualified to pipe up on this one because, living in the
central Calif
coastal rain forest, the inside of my Jettas has been swamped a time or
three. I used
silicone and had good results, but it's a bit messy. The best way I've found
is to use
the heavy gage sheeting and attach it with a length of the double back
adhesive trim
tape 3M makes. I've used it for reattaching body trim pieces also and as long
as there
is no surface moisture present when you try and stick it, it works great. It
typically
comes in apprx 3/4 inch widths, and I used scissors to cut it in half
lengthwise for this
particular job. You might need to get it a an automotive paint store, and
it's not real
cheap, but you get what you pay for. (Very sticky stuff) Good luck, Doug
