[Vwdiesel] Definitive frozen lock fix

There are plastic covers over the latches now. The latches were frozen
until the sun swung around and heated that side of the car just before
quitting time. Hair dryers are not exactly convenient to carry in the car
and plug in, since I don't have a plug handy where I park.
