[Vwdiesel] VDO oil press senders

Any experts on the list regarding VDO oil pressure senders?

I just bought a VDO electric O/P gauge off Ebay - it was listed as being for
Ford/Chevy (?) so I assume this means it uses the "US" Ohm range as per
e-gauges.com. The part # shown on the box (it hasn't arrived yet) does not
match anything I can find, so I assume it is old stock.

1. Is there a quick way to verify the "ohm" range or is it usually marked on
the gauge?
2. What is the thread size for the cyl head pressure sensor (and the oil
filter flange sensor - they are the same I think)?
3. Has anyone tried the dual output senders, which are designed to trigger
the oil light on most vehicles? They don't say what the trigger pressure is
for these switches.
My only experience is with mechanical pressure gauges, and I've always
just removed the cyl head pressure switch and stuck the mech line on
there. This will be for my Vanagon diesel (stock 1.6 for now), so I'm not
sure I want to remove the stock pressure switch.
