	You're right.  I had just spent time with my ageing mother, 
	at ED, getting her fixed up.  It was an overnight affair, and 
	I was getting pretty punchy.

	On the other hand, if you were in the 1930's, and someone 
	told you that a machine that calculates, looks things up,
	and even talks, were possible, how would you react?  What
	is it made out of?  A variant of sand with gold?  

	Many of our restrictions are failures of immagination.
