Roy Are you checking terminal 50 on the ignition switch AND
whilst turning the key as if starting? Yes? Then its the
switch broke as this is the supply point for all the
terminal '50's around the car. So the previous owner was
telling porky's.
The two wire thing was merely to determine if this black/red
wire takes a detour to the starter via the fuse board. It
didnt with all models/version etc. People have mentionedin
the past that their Rabbits/Jettas suffered from wet
corrosion there.
