What's the difference??

If there is ANY way to change the car pump to a speed governing pump, I need
to know, for the volksgen project

I never did hear any specifics but Jake was doing a lot of reading on
anything
he could get his hands on about the VW diesels. He said VW (Bosch?) found it

quite a challenge to get the pump to respond smoothly in a car application.
They first tried the industrial pump, thinking it might work as is or closely
to
as is and were very disappointed with the results.
I'm sure to reverse engineer one wouldn't be so difficult as you'd just
swap the proper springs, weights, levers, what-all is involved in the
change.

It's still a VE pump as that is the style of the pump. VE is a distributor

pump that looks like ours be it on a Peugeot, Audi 5 cylinder or what.

It seems like your friendly pump shop should be able to convert it for you.
