Gerry,

I've had similar experiences - I nearly always use Ilford chemicals, but had a few 
Kodak favourites, such as Microdol-X, and converting the units always drove me 
nuts, since the darkroom is setup for metric...
And I still convert to mpg, but have gotten pretty used to 5 l/100km as the number to 
shoot for, or 10 l/100km in the case of our Westy... (usually more like 12 though).
