Rabbit 1977 to 1984   ---and cold cold starting ?   ---this place is it  .
This place has more combined knowledge about getting that Rabbit
up and running  ---NO MATTER HOW COLD.

Than any place you can name.

70 below ? yes I was there ---but not with a Rabbit  ---with a Salmon.

In the archives we the really cold starter gang  ---explaining how to get going.
James Hansen and Sandy Cameron will verify what I am saying ----   in Canada when
it dips it DIPS.-----day on end at 42 below ?   ----now that is cold.

And me the Dane ?  ---had to learn real fast.    My ears froze solid  and cracked when I touched.
No problemo they are all right now.
So can we get a Rabbit going at say 70 below ?   ---try me make a bet.

Sneaky tricks ?   --advance the pump a pencil line --increase fueling a 1/4 turn
Come spring time turn things back.

My favorit cold start medicine ?    ETHER   and Mike in NB   and James Hansen can get
it likkety split.

I would like a Liter of ether     and some day  I will get it.    ---NOW   do NOT
use it in intake ----put in in the pump .     Via  outlet banjo.

Remember I have NOT done it so be carefull ----- small amounts will do.

Do I know that 2000 PSI is no good for your tires ?   ----so go figure.

Use your smarts ---OK ?  -----  I will add Ether to to pump as soon as I get the Ether.
count on me.   ---- At 42 below the Ether is a liquid ----trust me.

Have I used Ether spray bombs  ?   ---bet your ass on lots of Gassers and Diesels --
and it is  MAGIC for starting.

Was I a beginner  ?    at one time. Bet your ass ---and it is a piece of cake NOW.

I still like the Hub cap with the Charcoal under the Oilpan trick... ----it will
work let me tell you.    The guy should get a Rabbit cross with Briquettes for that one.

Starting a Rabbit diesel at 42 below in a snow drift in a place with no electric plug in sight
?  ???? are you kidding ?   forget it.   ----AH but yes the fuel heater systems will do it.
But 1000 dollars ?      eh  ?     if you must go ? get one.

A Coleman Sports stove ?    ----best thing dollar for dollar.    ----    If you have to drain oil and make
it BOILING hot and put back in ?  ----will it work ?    bet your ass ask me.

And then put it under oilpan at full blast.

As far as the flyboys go ----Herman Nelson ?   heather ?       super  EH ?.

I have a bunch of surplus    Janitrol Heaters   ----and let me tell you guys they WORK.

Stainless Steel   heat exchanger ?   ----great design.

To start a Rabbit ?   we need heat ----and that is IT.
