Generally I figure around 10F as when to be leary of your fuel's viscosity.
If you have any slightly loose fittings in the supply side of the fuel line,
you'll
experience problems in the teens to low 20's! I did anyway. Doubtful you
have blended fuel down there since they don't tend to anticipate the cold.
If you DO get it then it'll likely be after it's warmed up. Most blends are
around 80/20 number 2/number 1 diesel.
Regular gas is all I've ever used. The great thing is as long as you
have a gallon and room in the tank, it'll unjell your fuel nearly instantly.
The only time I've ever put close to the 25% is when it was -35F and
I was traveling through the middles of nowhere. Otherwise a gallon
or two, depending if it's the Rabbit (~10gal tank) or the pu or Jetta
(~14gallon). Just pull over if it starts to lose power, pour in a gallon
or limp to a station and add, idle a minute and go! :-)
