The links are a bit messed up on that site, but here is the info:
Transport Canada Recall # 1992057
Campaign Code: SD
"IF THE ENGINE OVERHEATS, IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE WALL OF THE END
CAP CONNECTING THE HEAT EXCHANGER'S CORE TO THE ENGINE
COOLING SYSTEM COULD RUPTURE AND ALLOW HOT COOLANT TO
ESCAPE. SHOULD THIS HAPPEN, SOME OF THE COOLANT COULD CONTACT
THE DRIVER'S FEET, CAUSING INJURY AND STEAM UP THE INTERIOR OF
THE VEHICLE, IMPAIRING VISIBILITY. CORRECTION: HEAT EXCHANGER WILL
BE REPLACED. "
Make: VOLKSWAGEN
Model: JETTA
Affected Year(s): 1985 1986 1987 1988 1989 1990 1991
Units Affected: 145236
After seeing this, I do recall sticker on my door jamb with "SD" written on it when I
had mine done. It appears from the recall # that it came out in '92 around the time I
had mine replaced.
