[Vwdiesel] Cold start knob question (again)

In cold weather you need BOTH good glow plugs AND advance.

It will do no harm to leave it in the advance position, as it only affects
the timing at and near idle. It jut makes her noisier sitting at stoplights,
and people stare at you.
Min remains in the advance position most of the winter unless on longer
trips when I remember to push it in. (On the 87, there is no Idle-up) (On
the 94, the high idle reminds me to push it in, then I forget to pull it for
starting, and wonder whats wrong with the car?? (:-))
