[Vwdiesel] mixing gasoline into diesel for cold temps ?

Did I read that right? You can put gasoline into your diesel tank to keep it
from gelling?
I suppose being from NB, where it's often -25*C in the winter and lots of
Golfs/Jettas/trucks
running around on diesel, my pump diesel would already be specially mixed
for the cold weather, right?

Would adding some gasoline help further or not needed?

OTOH if Kerosene is better, maybe I would look into that, though it's
dropped in popularity quite
a bit the past few years. Used to be a time when every corener store sold
it by the large 20L jug, but
not anymore. Harder to find.
