I was at the dealer today trying to find some parts which, after hearing
their prices, I will make on my own from silly putty. I was walking
around the showroom looking at all the shiny toys and wonderng what they
were selling for these days for a suprising number of minutes and no one
walked up to me. I got an, "I have no idea" from a receptionist drone.
I think all the sales staff was involved in a canasta game or
something. I finally cornered one of them and he told me that they will
be not importing TDI's for a bout a year and a half due to emissions
regs. Anyone heard about that? It's always hard to tell from a
salesman--the sound of their voices gets muffled as it passes throught
the lower abdomen. He didn't even ask me if I wanted to look at one. I
would think that that's the kind of trade practice that would tank a
dealership real quick, but I guess maybe I'm just that much smarter and
better-looking.

In any event, if that's true, I guess I'll have to buy TDI futures now
and sell high later.
