[Vwdiesel] Starting a COOL Rabbit 1977 t0 1984.- ( using Val Christians nifty idea )

My 1984 Rabbit 1.6L  Turbo  blockheater  quit summer of 2004.   ---- Preheating swirlchambers
using the plugs at half voltage ?   ---just what I need right now to get to pringtime.

I have big NiCads  with links between cells so no problem.

BUT I am going to my Ham shack dumpster stash  and get a 6 volt 30 Amp 
filament transformer.

Will let you all know how it goes.   Will it work ?    ----I will bet my ass.   ---AGAIN.

1.2 Volts times  4  to start with   ----18 dollars a plug ?   my dementia retreats real fast.

The beauty of the filament transformer ? I can use my  HIOKI  3100.   If you ever see one on a garage sale ?    grab it . I have two and they are good instruments.  Only goes to 300 Amps
but  for you VW Gensetters   that is perfect.     Lowest scale 0 to 6 amps full scale.

For the battery setup ?    I use the cTc 6.99 Dollar cutie    C700 -- 100  --37. Nicest looking ammeter I ever saw for 7 dollars canadian.

We havde to find a good name for that one if it works.     I bet 50 dollars it will ?   any takers ?
