[Vwdiesel] Algae-x??

   Diesel algae/fungus growth, does this occur during freezing winter 
months?
Or, does it grow only in warm to hot temperatures?


  AFIK it's a warmer weather thing and it grows in the oil/water interface.
Humid climate thing mostly.  Don't think I've ever seen any on an 
'indigenous" diesel here.  Dad's Mercedes came from CA, apparently 
with it already starting.  On my trip to TX I was informed that only a 
few months of sitting was enough for condensation to happen and 
get a nice culture going.  I've seen concrete sweat a little but not 
like it'd been raining, puddling and runnging off like in DFW outskirts.
  Don't even see algae here after months or years if sitting, even with a
partial tank!
