If the leak is minor then there's just a chance that a little extra torquing when hot will stop it. Nothing lost if it fails to stop... then new bolts and gasket witha close inspection of 'failed' gasket to find failure point..

Scott- I agree with Hagar of course.  From the limited information
provided by your friend and expatriate Forum member, it would seem that
he needs a better mechanic.  Sounds like his head gasket is already
leaking a bit and needs to be replaced.  Have him check his coolant
return flow into the pressure tank and open the cap of the pressure tank
immediately after a cold start to check for pressure.  If the flow is
intermittent- leak.  If there is immediately pressure in the tank- leak.
These things point back to what Hagar mentioned-  All this most valuable
information is in the archives!
